Helen Pendergraft Riddle

DURHAM- Mrs. Helen LaRue Pendergraft Riddle, 92, of Durham passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016.
Mrs. Riddle was born in Cary, NC, the daughter of the late Walter Raleigh Pendergraft and Mabel Hamilton Pendergraft. She retired from GTE as Service Representative. She was a member of Gorman Baptist Church for 50+ years where she was president of the Summerlin Sunday School Class for many years and worked as a caregiver for the nursery. She spent many hours supporting the Gorman Educational Program. In later years she adopted into the Antioch
Baptist Church family. She had a love for gardening being outside and digging in the dirt ! Her love for children and the needs of others was always at the for front of her thoughts ! Her love for her children and the Lord will live on in the legacy of the example she set in her day to day walk ! She will be truly missed but always felt by the ones she touched !
She is survived by her three sons, Michael Wayne Riddle of Virginia, Philip Bruce Riddle of Durham and Walter Brent Riddle of Mebane; three daughters, Sheila Riddle Wilson of Mebane, Emily Hope Riddle Herndon of Durham and Mary Elizabeth Riddle Taylor of Timberlake; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and loving daughter in-laws and son in-laws; and special neighbors, Mary Rodney and Jackie Wilkins.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be at Gorman Baptist Church Family Life Center at Wednesday, September 7, 2016 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
