Henry B. Pipkin

Henry Bowling Pipkin, Sr., 87, of 5441 Wake Forest Highway, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in Durham Regional Hospital. Mr. Pipkin was born in Durham to the late Joseph Early and Sarah Bowling Pipkin. Before retiring, he was a machine operator with the American Tobacco Co. for 35 years. Mr. Pipkin enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Surviving are three sons, Henry Pipkin, Jr. of Durham and Ronnie Pipkin and Tommy Pipkin, both of Creedmoor; three daughters, Carol Steelman of Greenville, NC, Barbara Copeland of Fuquay-Varina and Rita High of Durham; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Pipkin was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Pipkin. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Hudson Funeral Home.
