Henry Mack Smith

DURHAM Mr. Henry “Mack” Smith, 73, of Durham, died on Friday, April 27, 2012 as the result of Parkinson’s disease. Mack was born on September 21, 1938 in Chatham County to the late Shelton and Nell Smith. Mack worked with Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co. for almost 30 years.He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Iris Sorrell Smith; one son, Jeffrey and daughter-in-law, Kelly. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Grace and Trey Ard; sister, Ruth Ellen Fitzhugh and a brother, Robert Smith and their families, of Fuquay.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastors Jim Baggett and Bob Walker. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Lee Fitzhugh, Brad Smith, Ray Sorrell, Roy Sorrell, Andy Sorrell, Jerry Sorrell and Kenneth Garner.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
