Herman “Big Joe” Pennington

DURHAM  Mr. Herman “Big Joe” Pennington, 67, of Durham, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.

Mr. Pennington was the son of the late Herman Pennington and Hazel Lants Pennington.  He was a security officer for North Carolina Detective Agency and Carter Security.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wiggins Pennington; daughter, Melanie Barbour (Randy); sons, Roy Glasscock and Michael Glasscock; grandchildren, Jorden Rhew, Charisma Barbour, Dakota Glasscock, Jesse Glasscock, Cheyenne Glasscock, Westley McGhee and D.J. Brown; nieces, Jakie Keith (Joe) and Silvia Wiggs (Thomas); nephews, Dennis Pridgen(Janet) and Robert Pennington (Holly); special girls, Allison Crabtree, Makailla Slocum and Savanna Slocum.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 30^th at 12 noon at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pastor Scott Gray will officiate. Pallbearers will be George Evans, Robert Butler, Joe Keith, Cody Keith, Dennis Pridgen and Charles Slocum

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 717 Greentree Drive in Hillsborough. Flowers are acceptable.
