Hisako Kuruba Randall, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Durham on Sunday, July 3, 2016.
Hisako was born on July 14, 1932 in Osaka, Japan to Hisayoshi Kuruba and Nami
Masumoto. Hisako was married to Raymond T. Randall on July 1, 1958; they were married 58 years. Hisako was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who traveled the world many times over during her husband’s military career. After settling down in Newport News, VA, Hisako owned and operated her own beauty shop. She enjoyed caring for her koi fish, tending to her garden, cooking delicious Japanese food, watching NHK and playing slot machines in Cherokee. She was well known for her sense of humor and making her loved ones laugh until they cried. Most of all, Hisako loved to spend time with and care for her family and friends.
Hisako is survived by her husband Raymond Randall; her two daughters, Linda Holik and Roberta Brown; her 3 grandchildren, Kyle Brown, Lauren Brown and Sierra Holik; her brother Hisabone Hayase and sister Yoshiko Kuruba.
