Homer Arthur Watson

WATSONDURHAM Mr. Homer Arthur Watson, 88, of Durham, died on Friday, December 24, 2010.Mr. Watson was born in Watauga County to the late Millard and Sector Mae Wheeler Watson. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired after 15 years from the American Tobacco Company. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Leigh Tuck Watson; brothers, Lloyd and Tracy Watson and a sister Hazel Moore.He is survived by his daughter, Vickie L. Witten and husband, Don, of Durham; one brother, Hade Watson and wife, Louise, of Winston-Salem and two grandchildren, Cierra and Alex Witten.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Steve Triplett. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Jerry Walters, Curtis Howell, Henry Slaughter, Greg Slaughter, Ricky Lloyd, Terry Wright, and Ted Wright.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 to 2 p.m.,before the service at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, 4912 Seterra Bend in Durham.
