DURHAM- Ila “Tootsie” Reams Odom, 83, of Durham died on Saturday, July 26, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Percy King Reams and Lucy Jackson Reams. She was president and treasurer of Russell Odom Builder, Inc., wrote poetry, designed and created miniature clothes pin dolls, and was also an avid frog collector.
She is survived by her husband of sixty seven years, Russell Odom, one son, Kevin Brian Odom of Durham; three daughters, Cheryl O. White of Durham; Carol Moore of San Antonio Texas; Marguerite O. Peaden and husband Van of Durham; one brother George “Al” Reams of Spring Hope; four grandchildren, Wendy Garcia, Christy Bradshaw, Daniel Peaden, Mark Knight, four great-grandchildren, Austin Garcia, J.T. Garcia, Mason Bradshaw and Cash Bradshaw
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Hugh O’Shields will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Daniel Peaden, Mark Knight, Jimmy McLeod, Ken Parker, Chad Parker and Richard Lyon.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 3227 Rowena Ave. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, 2200 W.
