DURHAM Ina “Ann” Baker passed away on September 9, 2015 at the Hospice Hock Pavilion after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Ann was born October 15, 1944 in Durham, graduated from Southern High School and resided in Durham all her life. Ann is predeceased by her parents, Mozelle Williams Walker and Raymond Walker; and her brother Johnny Walker.
Ann is survived by her husband, Lawson Baker, her son Michael Copeland and his family, her sister Sue Atkins, and her brother Sammy Walker and his wife Wanda, her sister-in-law Barbara Walker, niece and nephews.
Ann was a loving, quiet, giving person who gave of herself and her resources to help others. Not only was Ann a beautiful woman she also had a beautiful spirit.
Ann spent her career working in various administrative positions with the majority of her career with State Farm Insurance Company. She retired from the Matt Phillips Chapel Hill Office of State Farm Insurance Company.
Ann was a long time member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church and the Ruth Gleaners Sunday School Class there.
Funeral services will be held at Durham Memorial Baptist Church at 133 Robbins Road, Durham, NC on Monday, September 14 at 2 p.m. with interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors at Hudson Funeral Home on Sunday, September 13 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pallbearers will be Benny Lee Fields, Todd Fields, Kenny Walker, Kevin Walker, Matt Phillips, and Bob Baker.
