Irene Rachel Adams

BUTNER- Mrs. Irene Rachel Adams, 73, passed away Tuesday January 10, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Adams was born in Bombay, India, but spent most of her formative years growing up in Tehran, Iran, where she eventually met and then eloped with her husband Fred. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her husband. Mrs. Adams and her husband attended 70 plus cruises over the years. Mrs. Adams was also a Lifemaster of the ACBL and was ranked as high as eleventh in the South East Region prior to having grandchildren, who then became her world.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband Fred Edwin Leroy Adams; son, Dr. David Adams, Robert Adams; daughter, the Honorable Karen Foxman (the Honorable Matthew Foxman); brother, William Ezra; sister, Edie McKellar; grandchildren, Ariel Adams, Eliana Adams, Caden Foxman, Emma and Megan.
Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Nancy Elia-Shaoul.
Graveside services will be held Thursday January 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Judea Reform Congregation Cemetery. Officiating will be Rabbi Larry Bach.
