Jack Bobby Hayes

DURHAM Mr. Jack B. “Bobby” Hayes, 77, of 2503 Joyner Road, died on Thursday, June 7, 2012.Mr. Hayes was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Ralph Virgil Hayes and Lula Mae Ladd Hayes. He retired from NC DOT as a Traffic Foreman. He was a member of Living Word Baptist Church in Creedmoor. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gretchen Hayes, two brothers, Ralph V. Hayes Jr. and George Ross Hayes and two sisters, Annie Hayes and Dalhia Shaw.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gretchen J. Hayes; two sons, Curtis Hayes and wife, Julie of Randleman and Marlon Hayes of Durham; two brothers, Celph Hayes and wife, Pat of Durham and John Thomas Hayes and wife, Martha of Belmont; one sister, Mary Ruth Hayes of Durham; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Living Word Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Wesley Holder and Rev. Jimmy Hall. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., before the service at the church.
