Jack Kurfees Ward

WARDDURHAM Mr. Jack Kurfees Ward, 84, of Durham, died on Friday, December 10, 2010, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born in Mocksville, N. C. to the late Grady Nash Ward and Edna Earl Kurfees. He attended West Point and later graduated from UNC. He served in the U. S. States Navy and worked for Roberts Construction Company until his health forced him to retire. He was a member of the Sudan Shrine Temple in New Bern and the Masonic Temple Fellowship #210 in Durham. Also he was a member of the Durham Elks Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Beadie Lee Ward.He is survived by his nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Dr. Rick Finley will officiate.
