James Green

DURHAM- Mr. James Edward Green, 83, passed away on September 15, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Green was born on April 10, 1937 to Allen and Margaret Green in Durham, NC. He worked for over 30 years Durham Coca-Cola Company. James enjoyed traveling and watching NASCAR races. He was kindhearted and loved to help others whenever he could.  James will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Margaret Green; his wife, Barbara Westmoreland Green; his daughter, Betty Joe Vaughan; brother, Allen J. Green, Jr.; sister, Dorothy G. Pendegraft.

Mr. Green is survived by his daughters, Teresa G. Tillotson (Lance) of Bennett, Colorado, Tina G. Honeycutt (Greg) of Stem, NC, and Margaret G. Thomas of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Tony Parnell, Jr. (Emily), Mandy Honeycutt, Greg Honeycutt, Jr. (Renee), Donnie Honeycutt (Brandi), Jimmy Vaughan, and Brandon Vaughan (Ashley); and great-grandchildren, Joshua Honeycutt, Heather Honeycutt, Wyatt Honeycutt, Emma Honeycutt, Jaxon Honeycutt, Jonathan Honeycutt and Allissa Vaughan.

Visitation will be held prior to service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Reverend Hugh O’Shields. Pallbearers will be Donnie Honeycutt, Greg Honeycutt, Jr., and Greg Honeycutt, Sr.

Flowers are acceptable. Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for visitation and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building.
