James Hudson Daniel

DURHAM- James H. Daniel, 68, of Durham passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Duke Regional with is loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Mary Fuller Daniel. James served in the US Army at Fort Bragg, St. Louis Missouri and Germany from 1968 to 1970 during which time he received the National Defense Service Medal, Expert M-14 and Good Conduct Medal. James was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He loved his dogs Izzy and Lucas along with his cat Ms. Tippy, all of whom were his recliner buddies. He attended Durham High School. James joined the family business Goss Linoleum, & Tile and then went on to his own business Original Flooring and Tile. James loved the beach and fishing. In his later years he picked up the hobby of playing golf. He was truly a family man. He was preceded in death by his second mom, Eva Sykes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Goss Daniel, daughters, Amy Bradley and husband Ricky, Jennifer Daniel and partner Forrest Steele, and granddaughter Sydney Bradley.
Memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Reverend Fred Johnson of Sherron Acres FWB Church will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Hudson Funeral Home.
