DURHAM Mr. James Paul Maddox, 88, of 4113 Dotted Mint Ave., Wake Forest, previously of 436 Sherron Rd., Durham died on Friday, October 14, 2011. He was the son of the late Oscar Maddox and Pearl Howard Maddox. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Maddox retired in 1985 after 20 years of service to IBM. He was a woodworker, played the steel guitar and harmonica, loved fishing and was also a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Helen Cox Maddox, two daughters, Ti-An Ferrell and her husband Keith of Wake Forest; Dawn Noell and her husband Matthew of Tampa Florida; four grandchildren, Sydney Ferrell, Olivia Ferrell, Henry Noell and Paul Noell. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18th at 11am at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 2309 South Miami Blvd., Durham. Rev. Harold Salmon will officiate. Burial will follow at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4141 South Plank Rd, Sanford at 3pm.
