James Richard “Jim” Campbell

CARY Mr. James Richard “Jim” Campbell, 80, of Cary, died on Friday, July14, 2017.
Mr. Campbell was born in Charlotte. He served in the U. S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a Navy Seal serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from Nortel after 15 years. He enjoyed reading, watching western movies and loved his dog, Jasper.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Herron Campbell; one son, Dennis Lewis (Carol) of Valrico, Fla.; daughters, Diane Reynolds (Steve) of Ashville, Debra Vega (David) of Durham; Donna King (Mark) of Clarksville, Va. and Denise Oakley (Micky) of Durham; brother, Bill Campbell of Charlotte; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Glen Davis will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mark King, David Vega, Micky Oakley, Cody King and Dylan Oakley.
