James Riggsbee

DURHAM- Mr. James Eugene Riggsbee, 84, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Mr. Riggsbee was born on April 9, 1936 to Jack and Anna Riggsbee in Somerville, MA. James proudly served his country in the United States Army for six years. He retired from Northern Telecom and attended Fellowship Baptist Church. James enjoyed going fishing and bowling. He loved his family and friends, most of all he loved his loving wife of 60 years, Beatrice.

Mr. Riggsbee was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Anna Riggsbee.

Mr. Riggsbee is survived by his wife, Beatrice Ray Riggsbee; his brother, Arthur Edmond Riggsbee; his sister, Helen Hancock; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Rick Finley. Entombment to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Gary Rigsbee, Robbie Riggsbee, Ricky Ray, Jerry Ray, Randy Ray, and Jackie Ray.

Flowers are acceptable. The public can view and sign the register book from 9:00 am to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, or from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday, January 12, 2021.

Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for the funeral service, and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building.
