James “Simmie” Milton Upchurch

Morrisville- James “Simmie” Milton Upchurch, 81, passed away on Saturday. July 9, 2016. He was the son of the late Sion Odell Upchurch and Lettie Green Upchurch. He retired from Duke University in maintenance. James loved to go to the Flea Markets. He was of the Baptist Faith. James was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Upchurch; brother, Burt Upchurch; sister, Dillie Upchurch.
James is survived by his son, Jamie Upchurch of New Hill; daughter, Lori Hewitt and her spouse Dana of New Hill; grandchildren, James Upchurch, Sebastian “Baba” Hewitt, Haylen Hewitt.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church in Morrisville. Pastor Glen Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be James Upchurch, Sebastian Hewitt, Dana Hewitt, Nathan Cotton, Kenneth Davis and Tony Barbour.
