James Stanley DeLong

DURHAM Mr. James “Stanley” DeLong, 58, of Durham, died on August 7, 2017.Mr. DeLong was a native and lifelong resident of Durham. He retired from UPS as a driver and attended Bible Baptist Church. Stanley was a wonderful loving father and grandfather who was kindhearted, hardworking and would do anything for anybody. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, cooking and entertaining for family and friends. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Bowen DeLong; father, June Guy DeLong and sister, Elaine Kelly.He is survived by his mother, Ramona DeLong; two sons, Christopher DeLong of Raleigh and Patrick Lee DeLong (Katie) of Rougemont; daughter, Crystal Williams (Blake) of Virginia; brothers, Randy DeLong (Theresa) and John DeLong (Becky) both of Durham; three grandchildren, Hunter, Nate and Austin Delong; brother-in-law, Mike Kelly and several nieces and nephews.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Tim Wheeler will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable.
