HASWELLDURHAM Mrs. Janet Fisher Haswell, 77, of 3415 Ogburn Court died on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 2 a.m.Mrs. Haswell was born in Durham, the daughter of the late Talmadge Loten Fisher and Reba Tanner Fisher. She was a 1951 graduate of Durham High School, worked for WTVD for 14 years and retired from the State of N.C. as Purchasing Agent for the N.C. School of Science and Mathematics. She was a member of Angier Avenue Baptist Church and the Ruth Bible Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Durham Elk’s Auxiliary, the Lowes Grove Bridge Club, the Bull City Ladies Red Hat Club and the Broken Anchor Boat Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Bobby Dallas Haswell and a daughter, Deborah Haswell Scheffel. She is survived by one son, Rodney Dallas Haswell and wife, Mary Oakley Haswell, son-in-law, Carl W. Scheffel, granddaughters, Kendall Scheffel Stevens and grandson-in-law, Jason Stevens, Shannon Haswell, Christian Haswell; brother, Ronnie Fisher and sister-in-law, Yvonne Fisher and her exceptional friends, Linda and Joe Harris.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Angier Avenue Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Clarence Parrish. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 3415 Ogburn Court.
