Janice Sarvis Moore

DURHAM- Mrs. Janice Faye Sarvis Moore, 68, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Duke University Medical Center.
Mrs. Moore was born on December 1, 1951 to Oscar and Mardell Sarvis in Durham, NC. Janice was a former member of Edgemont Baptist church and worked for Durham Public School’s as a bus driver for 38 years. She loved to fish, cook outs, and family gatherings. Janice enjoyed listening to oldies music as well as country music. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and loved caring for her rose bushes. Janice was a loving wife, mother of 4, grandmother of 10, and great grandmother of 26. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Mardell Sarvis; brother, William T. Lunsford; and sister, Barbara Jean Leos. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ronald N. Moore; son, Edward Ronald “Eddie” Moore and his wife, Shelley of Timberlake, NC; daughters, Kimberly Dawn Crowder of Durham, NC, Carrie Lee Moore of Durham, NC, and Christina Denise Perez and her husband Antonio of Durham, NC; brother, Roy E. Sarvis and his wife Linda of Bahama, NC; grandchildren, Crystal Moore, Timothy E. Crowder, Jr., Lagina M. Crowder, Sylvia R. Garcia-Opico, Clemente Opico, Jr., Jennifer D. Opico, Angel M. Cinega, Ronald A. Perez, Maria C. Perez, and Fernando I. Perez; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 2, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Hugh O’Shields. Pallbearers will be Lyle Flannery, Jr., Clemente Opico, Jr., Joseph T. Buchanan, Fernando Perez, Ronald Perez, and Andy D. Gonzalez. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
