Jennings Bryant “J.B.” Smart

DURHAM Mr. Jennings Bryant “J.B.” Smart, 85, of Durham, died on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
Mr. Smart was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late William and Catherine Smart. He served 20 years in the U. S. Air Force and retired after 15 years from the U. S. Postal Service. He was a member of Blacknall Presbyterian Church. He loved golfing.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice L. Smart; two sons, David B. Smart of Creedmoor and Timothy W. Smart and wife, Tonya, of York, Pa.; stepsister, Annette King of Durham; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Blacknall Presbyterian Church, 1902 Perry Street in Durham at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Allan Poole will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be James Locklear, Robert Smart, Raymond Smart, Todd Craft, Taylor Kathryn Smart and Ashley Smart. Honorary pallbearer will be Austin Smart.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and a reception will be held before the service from 10 to 11:15 a.m. at the church.
