Jesse James Shaw, III

DURHAM- Mr. Jesse James Shaw, III, 83, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Roxboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Shaw was born October 1, 1938 to the late Jesse and Evana Shaw in Person County, NC. He was a member of Lowe’s Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Shaw enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading and working in his shop. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his half-brothers Hassell Day and Jesse James Shaw, Jr. “Shaw Baby”.

Mr. Shaw is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lou Shaw; son, Kendall Shaw (Bridget); daughter, Wendie Shaw Hager; stepson, Rick Tugwell; stepdaughter, Lisa Gill (Paul); grandchildren, Clayton Shaw, Alex Shaw, Jeremy Shaw, Elijah Hager, Ben Hager, Anna Hager; step-grandchildren, Turner Gill, Ethan Gill, Megan Tugwell and Kaylee Tugwell.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Lowe’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Woody Freeze.
