Jessica Lynn Dietz

Jessica Lynn Dietz, RT (R)(CT), CNMT, age 39, passed away on July 2nd, 2024, at Duke University Health System surrounded by her family and friends. Jessica was born on December 21, 1984, in Fairmont, WV. Jessica lived life to the fullest and built a life she loved with her devoted husband, Justin Dietz, and her fur baby, Boomer, in Durham, North Carolina. 

 Jessica graduated from East Fairmont High School in 2003. She graduated from the West Virginia University Radiology Program in 2006. In 2007, she graduated from the University of North Carolina Nuclear Medicine Program and worked at UNC Medical Center from 2006-2008. In 2008, she was hired at Duke University Health System as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. While she was working at Duke, she completed her Computed Tomography Certificate from Edgecombe Community College in 2012. After working there for almost 11 years, Jessica took a job at Siemens as a Clinical Education Specialist, where she was recently was awarded an exclusive trip for her hard work and dedication to serving her customers. 

 In her free time, Jessica enjoyed baking, traveling, NKOTB, Orange Theory Fitness, everything about the Christmas season, and spending time with her family and exceptionally great friends. Jessica was an avid Steelers fan and loved fantasy football.

 Jessica was proceeded in death by her beloved fur baby, Jax; her grandparents, Joseph Bean, Jarold and Letta Louise Cochran, Marvin Dial; her uncle, Larry Cochran.

 She is survived by her loving husband, Justin Dietz; her parents, Wayne Cochran, Beth and John Dial; grandparents, Alice Bean, Zetta Dial; her siblings, Bobbi Wyant (Jim), Josh Dial, Jared Dial (Skylar), Nicole Orr (Kyle), Renzy Cochran, Rhyan Cochran. Her nieces and nephews, Brandon Irons, Zoey Dial, Eli Dial, and Reed Dial. Justin’s parents, Paula Reece (Dale), Martin Dietz; Sister-in-law, Katie Morgan (Bryce). Jessica also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

 A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Jessica at their family home at 1016 Hollis Circle, Durham, NC 27703 from 10:30am-2:00pm. Friends and family are invited to share their fond memories of Jessica at a ceremony beginning at 11 am.
