OXFORD Mrs. JoAnna Batten Robbins, 68, of Oxford, died on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
Mrs. Robbins was born in Johnston County, the daughter of the late Fleetwood Batten and Edith Strickland Batten. She retired from GTE as a Purchasing Coordinator. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a former member of Stem Ruritan Club. She enjoyed gardening, reading, yard sales and most of all playing with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, mema, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Marshall Robbins.
She is survived by her two sons, Jonathan Robbins and wife, Ann of Oxford, Timothy Robbins and wife, Darla of Creedmoor; brother, Timothy Batten of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Kristen, Daniel, Kelley, Jacob, Emma and Madison Robbins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Dr. Rick Finley will officiate. Burial will be in South Granville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jacob Robbins, Jonathan Robbins, Marcus Morgan, Anthony Lane, Dennis Yelsko and Frank Trivett.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the son’s homes. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences may be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
