DURHAM- Mr. John Edward Flamion, 77, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Hock Family Pavilion.
Mr. Flamion was born April 26, 1942 to the late Charles and Minnie Flamion in St. Croix, IN. He dedicated his whole life to the service of his country and community. Bud served 10 years as a Unites States Marine; 40 years with Redwood Fire Department and current Vice President of Redwood Board of Directors. He spent 14 years as a dedicated member of Redwood Ruritan Club serving as President, Vice President, Board of Directors and Director. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a craftsman in woodworking. He was quite the chef as well. Bud loved his family and they were the center of his life and will be remembered and cherished as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
Mr. Flamion is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Minnie Flamion; brother, Tom Flamion; brother-in-law, Willie Weinzapfel.
Mr. Flamion is survived by his wife, Catherine Hair Flamion; sons, John Edward Flamion, Jr. (Donna), Charles William Flamion (Joy); daughter, Jeanna Patrice Flamion Sullivan (Mark); brothers, Don Flamion (Barb), Pat Flamion (Sharon), Paul Flamion, Roger Flamion (Patty); sisters, Betty Weinzapfel, Marilyn Wilken (Jack), Linda Wilson (Sumner); grandchildren, Trey Flamion (Meredith), Tyler Flamion (Jennifer), Philip Sullivan, Monica Sullivan and Brianna Flamion; great grandchildren, Jackson Flamion, Powell Flamion, Skyler Ormiston and Riley Flamion.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2020 at Durham Memorial Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Chris Otto. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
