WILMINGTON- Mr. John “Jack” Bowman, III, 61, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019, at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh.
Mr. Bowman was born July 31, 1957, to the late John and Barbara Bowman, Jr in Paoli, PA. He had an immense love of athletics. Mr. Bowman was the co-founder and co-owner of the American Arena League, in 2018 and 2019, the largest arena football team in the world. As General Manager of the Cape Fear Heroes, his 2012 team won the national championship. He was the former National Director of American Indoor Football and the American Indoor Football Association. Mr. Bowman was inducted into the Minor League Football Hall of Fame Class of 2005. He will be remembered as very private, kind, and generous within his means who touched many people.
Mr. Bowman is survived by his brother, Bruce Bowman and wife, Colleen Reilly; nephew, Alex Bowman; niece, Nicole Bowman; special friend, Candy Iseminger and her daughter, Alexis Iseminger.
No services will be held.
