DURHAM Mr. John Monroe Freeman, 81, of Durham, died on Sunday, November 11, 2012.Mr. Freeman was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Roy Calvin and Hazel Currin Freeman. He retired after 30 years from Duke Energy as a Lineman. He also worked with Practical Management for 5 years. He attended Grove Park Chapel. He loved his wife “Snow” whom he was married to for 63 years. He loved children, was very active in his church doing for others, and was also known as a “crafty” handyman. He was preceded by his brother, Roy C. Freeman.In addition to his wife, Snowdean Lee Freeman, he is survived by his son; son, Tony Lee Freeman and wife , Debra of Durham; daughter, Patricia Renaie Wilson and husband, Michael of Durham; one brother, Eugene Freeman of Durham; one sister, Mary Etta Guess of Durham; 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Dale Brooks officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
