DURHAM: John Wayne Ausley, 78 passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.
Mr. Ausley was born in Durham County and was the son of the late John A. Ausley and Helen Ausley. He retired from the Valassis Durham Printing Division where he was a supervisor of the Inserting Department. He was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a substitute Sunday School teacher. He was a former member of Bethesda Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and taught the men’s Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Bethesda Volunteer Fire Department. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Christine McGhee Ausley; son, David Todd Ausley and wife Donna of Wake Forest; son, Stephen W. Ausley and wife Gina of Butner, daughter Sharon Craft and husband Donnie of Wake Forest, and daughter Kristi Robinson and fiance’ E.A. Stallings of Youngsville; thirteen grandchildren, Brandon Ausley, Brittany Ausley, Derrick Philbert and wife, Jamie, Maegan Ausley, Cody Ausley, Cassidy Blalock, Drake Blalock, Evann Blalock, Ella Craft, Noah Craft, Jordan Robinson, Garrett Robinson, John Allen Stallings, great grandchildren Phoenix Philbert and Jayden Philbert, a sister Barbara Lynn of Raleigh and several nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 16th at 11 a.m. at Olive Branch Baptist Church. Pastor Tim Wheeler and Rev. Hugh O’Shields will officiate. Burial will be at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be George Pearce, Jimmy McCullen, Roy Dickerson, Mickey Stephenson, David Johnson and Brandon Ausley. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sam Brown Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to the
