Johnny Walker

April 7, 1939 — August 26, 2013

Creedmoor-Mr. Johnny Walker, 74, of Creedmoor died on Monday, August 26, 2013. He was the son of the late Raymond Walker and Mozelle Williams Walker. He served in the U.S. Army and National Guard. Mr. Walker retired from the State. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Butner, Creedmoor Masonic Lodge, Amateur Radio Club and a graduate of Southern High School. He was also involved in Soap Box Derby with his sons, his favorite hobby was metal detecting. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sonya Lynne Walker.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Cash Walker, two sons, Kenny Walker and Kevin Walker (Tammy) both of Creedmoor; one brother, Sammy Walker (Wanda) of Youngsville; two sisters, Sue Atkins  of Bahama;  Ann Baker (Lawson) of Durham; two grandchildren, Taylor Walker and Logan Walker.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.  at First Baptist  Church of Butner. Rev. Lenny Rogers and Rev. Charlie Bryan  will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Boyce, Stanley Keith, Todd Keith, Dennis Scearce, Greg Womack and Wyatt Womack. Honorary pallbearers will be Southern High School Classmates of 1958.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday  from  12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.  prior to the service at First Baptist Church of Butner and other times at the home. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Butner, 202 West D Street, Butner, NC 27509. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
