Jonathan Stephen McMahel

Mr. Jonathan Stephen McMahel, 33, passed away on Tuesday January 30, 2024. 

Jonathan McMahel was born in Hammond, IN. on October 14, 1990 to Stephen McMahel and Cynthia Raynor McMahel.

Jon was a loving son, brother, grandson and uncle to three special kids. He was an Air Force veteran as well. 

He was an adventurous man who loved the outdoors ; camping, hiking, skiing and boating. 

Jon was a Technical Support Engineer, who enjoyed everything about technology.

He loved the Star Wars series, and Sherlock Holmes movies, and a variety of music. 

Jon enjoyed Hockey, jogging, and biking. He enjoyed the mountains but especially loved the beach. 

Jon graduated valedictorian from Fellowship Baptist Academy in Durham, NC. and went on to graduate from Hyles Anderson College with a degree.

Mr. McMahel is survived by his father and mother Stephen and Cynthia McMahel, his sister Bethany Young (Tim), and his brother Jacob McMahel.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Korey High, Phil McMahel, Gary McMahel, Tim Young, Ed Young Jr. and Chase Hamilton. 

A Celebration of life service will be Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2:00pm, With a visitation for family and friends one hour prior from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Fellowship Baptist Church, 450 Muldee St, Durham NC  27703.

The Committal Service will be at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024.
