DURHAM Mr. Joseph Hardy Mitchell, Sr., 66, of 5601 Skylane Drive, died on Sunday, May 30, 2010.Mr. Mitchell was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Paul Glenn and Irene Murphy Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Martha Maynard Mitchell; two sons, Joe Mitchell Jr. and wife, Kristi of Durham and Thomas Mitchell Sr. and wife, Pamela of Franklinton; one daughter, Angela Garrett and husband, William of Durham; brother, C.G. Mitchell; sister, Edna Frazier and 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jack Cox. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
