LEBELDURHAM Mr. Joseph Valier Lebel, 68, died on Monday, June 28, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Lebel was born in St. Francis, Maine to the late Ernest and Lelia DuBois Lebel. He had lived in Durham for the past 37 years. He retired after 41 years from The Kroger Company. He was a member of Fletcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He volunteered for over 20 years as an official and coach of youth sports. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed camping with his family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Fern Gagnon and two brothers, Lester Lebel and Herman Lebel.He is survived by his wife, Anne Lebel; two daughters, Karen Crabtree and husband, Tony and Kimberly Norton and husband, Barry, both of Durham; three sisters, Annette Daigle and Laurette Melanson, both of Ft. Kent, ME., Mary Lou Scott and husband, Merle of Bangor, ME; two brothers, Gerard Lebel and wife Vivian of Sebastian, Fla., and Ernest Lebel and wife Donna of Portland, ME.; four grandchildren, Valerie and Brice Norton and Logan and Lindsey Crabtree.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Fletcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Ron Snider and Rev. Mike Weber. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1812 Penrod Road.
