Joyce Etta Ray Wright

OXFORD Mrs. Joyce Etta Ray Wright, 73, of 2050 Tommie Daniel Road, died on Sunday, December 04, 2016.
Mrs. Wright was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Von Ray and Eleanor Marshall Ray. She retired after 47 years from Blue Cross Blue Shield as Director of Membership. Mrs. Wright was a member of Enon Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a big Elvis fan. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Wright.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Linwood Wright; one son, Lenny Wright of Creedmoor; two brothers, Johnny Ray (Evelyn) and Jerry Ray (Debra) all of Hillsborough; two sisters, Judy Wright of Stem and Janice Harris of Oxford; four grandchildren, Michael Wright, Trey Wright, Shannon Laughter and Taylor Wright; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Laughter and Aidan Laughter.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Steve Brown will officiate. Burial will be in South Granville Memorial Gardens in Stem. Pallbearers will be Jeff Ray, Bubba Ray, Johnny Ray, Michael Wright and Trey Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Miller, Dan Atherton, Mike Kendrick, Horton Upchurch, Dwight Dixon and Pat Burkart.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2050 Tommie Daniel Road in Oxford.
