JACKSONCREEDMOOR Mrs. Joyce Marlene Jackson, 73, of 101 Charles Street, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Mrs. Jackson was born in Lumberton but had lived in Creedmoor since 1960. She was the daughter of the late Hughie S. Phillips and Effie J. Downing Phillips. She was a homemaker and a member of Concord Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Junior Phillips, Craven R. Phillips, Burt Lee Phillips and a sister, Ava Gray Taylor.She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Rev. Floyd P. Jackson; stepson, Stanley M. Jackson; three step-daughters, Terry A. Bise, Angela K. Bringle and Brenda L. Jackson; one brother, Preston Phillips; one sister, Cathy M. Suggs and 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. James Shelley. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral home, before the services and other times at the home, 101 Charles Street.
