Juanita Fay Johnson Garner

SMITHFIELD- Mrs. Juanita Fay Johnson Garner, 94, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019.
Mrs. Garner was born November 4, 1924 to Otis and Florence Johnson in Durham, NC. Juanita was a member of Northgate Presbyterian Church for many years. She loved to garden, playing Canasta and reading, but most of all she loved being around her family. Juanita helped raise many children in the Durham area as the owner of Mimi’s Daycare for over 50 years. She was kind, caring, generous, and funny.
Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Florence Johnson; husband, Andrew “Jack” Garner, Sr.; daughter, Susan Garner Carlton; brother, Arnold Johnson of Durham, NC; sister, Hilda Moritz.
Mrs. Garner is survived by her son, Andy Garner of Smithfield, NC; daughter, Andrea Garner of Durham, NC; sister, Peggy Barnes (Cliff) of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Andy Owenby, Donnie Garner, Toni Sossomon (Robert), Micah Joyner (Tiffany), Stacy Creech (James), and Harrison Garner; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Hudson Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
