DURHAM Mrs. Julia Clay Elliott, 84, of Durham, loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and “Gooch” joined her husband, Kenneth Elliott in heaven on Monday, January 9, 2017.
Mrs. Elliott was born in Granville County, the daughter of the late John Archie Clay and Vivian Reavis Clay. She worked for 25 years as a Receptionist for D & L Appliance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ross Elliott on December 31, 2016.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Elliott; two daughters, Teresa Clemons (Michael) and Tina Bass (Jimmy); grandchildren, Michael “Bubba” Clemons (Kelly), April Clemons (Chris), Stacey Bass, Julia Bass, Hunter Clemons and Tanner Clemons; great-grandchildren, Garrett and Hailey Clemons and multiple nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Clemons, Bubba Clemons, Chris Clark, Mike Murray, Clint Murray, and Mike Tilley.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Teresa Clemons. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences may be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
