Julia Gooch Starnes

STARNESDURHAM Mrs. Julia Gooch Starnes, 92, of Durham, died on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. She was born in Granville County on January 20, 1919 to the late Robert J. Gooch and Emma King Gooch. Mrs. Starnes retired from Seaman Printers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Starnes and one son, Larry W. Starnes.She is survived by her daughter, Jean McKee and husband, William of Durham; brother, Joe Gooch of Stem and granddaughter, Michelle Evans and husband, Ryan of Creedmoor; many nieces and nephews and a beloved friend, Shirley Ray.Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Andy Brown. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
