Kathy L. Priest

Kathy L. Priest of Durham, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday May 24, 2023. She was born in Oakland, California on September 23, 1967 to the late Roy (Jack) and Virginia (Carol) Gore.

Kathy was raised all across the country until her late father retired from the Navy and her family settled in San Jose, California. She earned her Undergraduate degree at Northwest Nazarene University and her Law degree from Santa Clara University, which she attended at night while holding down a full time job.

Kathy’s career included stints at ARM, BOPS Inc., /n Software and most recently as Chief Legal Officer of CData. Kathy was Instrumental in  Making the company one of the best Success stories in the Triangle.  She also worked for a time with her husband Peter in private practice. She was an avid golfer, so much so that she played five rounds of golf on her honeymoon in New Zealand. Kathy loved cooking and baking, and shared her culinary talents with so many people. She welcomed people into her home, and loved to socialize and share her love of hospitality with so many.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband Peter H Priest and step children Will Priest (Lindsey) and Sara Priest (Spencer). Her siblings Janette Nolan (Russell), Miki Walker (Robert), Penelope Nostrand, and Roy Gore. She was a loving Aunt to her nephews Taylor, Jacob, Sean, Dillon, and Jeremy as well as her niece Danielle.

Visitation and memorial services will be held on June 3, 2023. Starting at 1pm for visitation followed by a Memorial Service at 2pm. These will be at:
