DURHAM- Mr. Kenneth Reid Inscoe, 67, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
Mr. Inscoe was born on January 17, 1953 to Wallace and Doris Inscoe in Durham, NC. Kenneth was a member and regularly attended Bethesda Baptist Church. He was a hunter and avid fisherman; his favorite striper fishing spots were Lake Gaston and Kerr Lake. He loved working in his yard and was a die-hard Duke fan. Kenneth was a third-generation wholesale meat processing and distribution business owner. The business was founded by his grandfather, H.O. Inscoe over 100 years ago, and followed by his father, Wallace Inscoe. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Mr. Inscoe was preceded in death by his mother, Doris George Inscoe. He is survived by his father, Wallace Reid Inscoe; son, Kurt Reid Inscoe (Angie) of Kenly, NC; daughter, Karen I. Walls of Durham, NC; mother of the children, Kristie Inscoe; sisters, Donna Inscoe, Teresa Jones, Tammy Champion (Gary), Julia Inscoe, all of Durham, NC; and grandchildren, Kenneth Walls of Durham, NC, Jayce Inscoe of Durham, NC, Taylor Walls of Stem, NC, and Sidney Inscoe of Newport, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Officiating will be Rev. Jonathan Barbee. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Larry Travers, Paul Jones, Sterling O’Steen, Troy Jones, Matt Markham, and Ben Markham. Honorary pallbearers will be Russ Pickett, Preston Markham, John Delong, Randy Delong, Pat Markham, Hal Buck, and Gary Wynne.
Flowers are acceptable, or memorial contributions can be made to the Bethesda Baptist Church Building Fund at 1914 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703.
Hudson Funeral Home and Bethesda Baptist Church will be observing social distancing for visitation as well as the funeral service, and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building.
