Larry James Wilkins

Larry J. Wilkins, 83, of Cary, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025. He was born on December 15, 1941, in Durham, NC to the late Johnny and Beulah Wilkins.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Carlton Wilkins, Steve Wilkins and Randy Wilkins; sisters, Jackie George, Sharon Hardemon and Cookie Wilkins and son-in-law, Steven Stone.

Mr. Wilkins proudly served his country in the United States Army and spent several years stationed in Germany. He worked for over 30 years as a Sheet Metal Fabricator for Stromburg Sheet Metal Works until his retirement in 2019.

Larry was a very intelligent and talented man; he loved working with sheet metal and scrap metal. Most of all he loved being around his family. Mr. Wilkins will be remembered as a loving and kindhearted man who had a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by his family.

Mr. Wilkins is survived by his sons, Shane Wilkins and Bradley Wilkins; daughter, Tammy Wilkins Stone; brothers, Joe Wilkins (Kari) and Rusty Wilkins (Barbara Jean); 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and numerous other loving family members.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Durham, NC. Rev. Gerald Singleton will officiate.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Steven Stone, II, Shane Wilkins, Rayni Wilkins, Noah Wilkins, Chris Wilkins and Bradley Wilkins.
