Leroy Albert Chappell

DURHAM Mr. Leroy Albert Chappell, 83, of Durham, died on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.Mr. Chappell was a native of Granville County, the son of the late Thomas Yancey Chappell and Louvenia Tilley Chappell. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired after many years with Environmental Supply of Durham. For many years he was a member of the Bethel Christian Center Bible Class. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lalah Chappell and a brother, James Chappell.He is survived by one brother, George Chappell and wife, Glennie of Durham; three sisters, Ruby Nance, Marie Hester and husband, Thomas and Mary Sams and husband, Walter all of Durham; granddaughter, Michelle Stangle; stepson, Raymond and stepdaughters, Ava, Cindy, Angela and Tammy.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Morris Westbrook and Rev. Don Westbrook. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
