Leroy Maxwell May

Leroy Maxwell May, 92, of Durham, North Carolina peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023.  He was born on May 6, 1931 in Providence, Kentucky to the late Leonard and Vaden Pate May.

Mr. May earned his Master’s degree from the University of Colorado.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army 1948 to 1950 in New Mexico.  Leroy worked as a Computer Programmer for over 40 years for both IBM, NCR, and Western Electric until his retirement in 1996. Mr. May was a long-time member at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Durham where he supported the LEAP Program.

Leroy enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, International Travel, reading, and Genealogy. Mr. May is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Delano Burton May and his brothers, Len May and Paul May.

Leroy is survived by his son, Thomas Admay (Catherine); daughter, Sarah Rohloff (John Krause); grandchildren, Caroline Rohloff Boden (Eliot) and Millicent “Sibu” Admay and other loving family members.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
