Lillian Louise White

May 19, 1935 — March 1, 2017

DURHAM, Mrs. Lillian Louise White, 81, of Durham, entered Heaven’s gate on Wednesday, March 01, 2017.
Mrs. White was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late James Matthew Moore and Bertie Mae Brown Moore. She retired from IBM Corporation. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Joseph White Sr.; sisters, Margaret Moore Hopson and Helen Moore Glosson and son-in-law, Bill Goodson
She is survived by her son, William Joseph White, Jr. and wife Judy; daughters, Twyla Goodson, Tena King and husband,Jimmy and Teryle Whitfield and husband, Keith. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a very special family friend, Miss Donna Calder.
She was fondly known as Mama, Grandma and G.G. She was loved by many and adored by all. Faith and family were so important to her. She was blessed with the gifts of compassion and hospitality. She never met a stranger and is known for her cooking and baking from her co-workers to family. You never went hungry when Mama was around.
You will be so missed but you have left us beautiful memories. Your love is still here to guide us, and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. Our family link is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Jack Moody will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Joe White, Mike White, Jason King, Adam Whitfield, Aaron Whitfield and Brian Massengill.
