Lillie Mae Carpenter Wiggins, 94, of Hillsborough passed away Monday August 26, 2024, at the home of her daughter.
Mrs. Wiggins was born in Roberson County on July 16, 1930, to the late William Henry and Ila Byrd Carpenter.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wiggins is preceded in death by her husband Oliver Roy Wiggins; daughters, Gloria Glasscock, Peggy Butler, and Geneva Pope; Brothers, Donald Carpenter, Willard Carpenter, and Brian Maynor; sister, Ruby Ferrell.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Evans and husband Greg of Durham and Patricia Pennington of Hillsborough; brother, Tyson Carpenter and wife Janie; son-in-law, Robert Butler; sister-in-law, Trudy Carpenter; grandchildren, Tammy Ortiz (Mark), Stephanie Morris (Brian), Harold Wayne Reagan, Chris Reagan, Roy Glasscock, Michael Glasscock and Shaun Fuller; also 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wiggins was employed with A & P grocery stores in the meat department retiring after 36 years of service. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, watching old western movies. She also enjoyed vacationing in the NC mountains. She will be missed by her family and friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday August 29, 2024, from 6 p.m.to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday August 30, 2024, at Hudson Funeral Chapel, Officiating will be Brother Randy Youmans, Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jason Carpenter, Roy Glasscock, Marc Ortiz, Robert Butler, Jesse Glasscock and Trey Ortiz.
Flowers are acceptable.
