Linda Lee Trumbo Wilson, 63, was called home on Saturday, April 16, 2016 to join her late husband, Geter Gilbert Wilson. She was born in Rockingham County, Virginia, the daughter of Charles Everette Trumbo and Doise Moore Trumbo. Linda loved to quilt, crochet, embroider, and sew sharing her talents with various charities. She was a kind, caring, and compassionate person; and a patient, loving mother, daughter and sister who will be missed by many.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons; Walter Gray Wheeler and daughter-in-law Shelly McFadden Wheeler of Texas, Barry Randall Wheeler of Durham; grandchildren, Dillon Gray Wheeler and Victoria Christine Wheeler of Texas; sister Robin Odom and brother-in-law, Don Odom of Durham; and many cousins.
A graduate of Southern High School, Linda worked in the banking industry after earning degrees from Harris County Community College, Durham Technical Community College and North Carolina Wesleyan College.
The family would like to extend thanks to the Duke Hospice team for their loving care during the last months of Linda’s life; her caregivers Amie, Ann, Hilda, and Jenny; her faithful visitor Johnnie; and the many neighbors, friends and relatives who called, visited, and sent cards.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Berea Baptist Church, 5011 Fayetteville Road, Durham, NC 27713. At Linda’s request, no service will be held but friends and family may visit from 2:30 pm until 4:30 pm Sunday afternoon, April 24, at Linda’s home.
