Linwood (Blue) Watson

DURHAM Mr. Linwood T. “Blue” Watson, 82, of Durham, died on Saturday, March 17, 2012.Mr. Watson was a native and lifelong resident of Durham and the son of the late William Edgar Watson Sr. and Alma Florence Nicholas Watson. He retired from the RDU Airport as a Mechanic Supervisor. He attended Roberson Grove Baptist Church His earlier years he was a member of the Golden Gloves Boxing and was a champion for Durham County. Blue loved racing and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betsy Watson; two sons, Doug Watson of Timberlake and Joe Watson of Durham; one daughter, Susan Watson of Durham; three brothers, Wayne Watson and Donnie Watson both of Durham and Connie Watson of Pilot Mountain; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Jack O’Neal will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Rodney Watson, Steve Watson, David Watson, Jr., D. K. “Rocky” Watson, Jr., W.E. “Butch” Watson III and L.D. “Buddy” Watson, Jr.The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
