Linwood A. Dillard

DURHAM- Mr. Linwood Dillard, 73, passed away on August 29, 2021.

Mr. Dillard was born August 28, 1948 to the late Quenton Dillard and Mary Ruth Coston Moore. Linwood retired after 30 years at GTE and in his retirement, worked for 18 years at Sport Durst Automotive. He really enjoyed his working career, as his co-workers became a second family to him. He loved his pets and his loving family. Linwood will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Linwood is preceded in death by his sisters, Kay Dillard Winston and Rhonda Diane Dillard.

Linwood is survived by his loving wife, Louise Wrenn Dillard; children, Phyllis Denise Holt (Jerry), Linwood Dillard, Jr., Emily Plummer (Bryan); grandchildren, Travis Holt and Haley Holt; stepmother, Nancy Dillard; sisters, Patsy Tucker (Jerry), Susan Clayton (Steve), Vickie Sorrell, and Tammy Brinkley.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Rusty Davenport, Floyd Wimbish, Jason Middleton, Barry Hastings, Nick Featherstone, and Kyle McCarty.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Mount Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Rich Goodier. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Duke University Hospital Nurses for the care of Linwood.
