Lisa Goss Smith

DURHAM Mrs. Lisa Jean Goss Smith, 56, of Durham, passed away at home on Monday, December 19, 2016, after a long illness and is now at peace.
Lisa was a native and lifelong resident of Durham. She attended Southern High School. She owned and operated a small laundry and was formerly employed at the Bethesda Baptist Church Childcare. She was a member of Sherron Acres Free Will Baptist Church. Lisa loved the beach and was an avid animal lover. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Wallace “Buddy” Goss, Sr. and brother-in-law, James Daniel.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Smith; her mother, Delores Smith Goss; son, Matthew Cash Smith; daughter, Abigail Ivy Jean Smith; brothers, Sammy Goss (Debbie) and Billy Goss; sisters, Vickie Daniel and Linda Nifong (Ricky); mother-in-law, Becky Balltzglier.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Animal Protection Society of Durham, 2117 E. Club Blvd, Durham NC 27704.
