Lois Geraldine Sanders

December 15, 1946 — October 18, 2020

Longs, SC- Ms. Lois Geraldine “Gerrie” Sanders, 73, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020. Ms. Sanders was born on December 15, 1946 to the late Clifton and Lois Sanders in Durham, NC. She attended Waterbrook Community Church in Longs, SC, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Gerrie will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

Ms. Sanders is survived by her brothers, Woodrow Y. Sanders and his wife, Laurie, and Billy J. Sanders and his wife, Patricia, both of Longs, SC; many nieces and nephews; and her loving Yorkie, Oscar.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your local animal rescue group or the SPCA.

The family will not be receiving friends at the funeral home, however, for those who would like to come by and pay their respects and/or sign the book, you will be able to on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham, NC. Officiating will be Reverend Hugh O’Shields.  Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for the service and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask for the duration of the service.

A memorial service for Gerrie will be held on or about October 17, 2021. Time and place to be determined. Hopefully the pandemic will have passed, and we can then celebrate her life.
