Lori Holder Jones

DURHAM- Mrs. Lori Holder Jones, 57, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 after battling pancreatic cancer for over a year.
Mrs. Jones was born on August 18, 1962 to the late Rex and Dollie Holder in Durham County, NC. Lori was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She balanced these family roles with work and community outreach out of love for her family and community. Lori was Office Manager at RBS Grading and Excavating since its establishment. She volunteered as the Oak Grove Ruritan Club Treasurer for over 10 years and was instrumental in organizing many of the Ruritan Club’s fundraising events and scholarships that supported the local community. Lori was a self-trained and well-versed bookkeeper. She was always willing to help friends and neighbors navigate their books and also served as a notary public for the local community. Lori attended Vertical Church in Hillsborough, NC. Lori enjoyed cooking, gardening, crafts, solving puzzles, spending time at the beach, and fellowship with family and friends. She selflessly cared for others. She will be lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 38 years, Richard L. “Ricky” Jones; sons, Brian Jones of Durham, NC, and Greg Jones (Lena) of Alberta, Canada; daughter, Ashley Walker (Jereme) of Hurdle Mills, NC; brothers, Johnny Holder (Sherry) of Durham, NC, Steve Holder (Gail) of Durham, NC, and Barry Holder (Trudy) of Roxboro, NC; sisters, Janet Aycock (Randy) of Durham, NC, and Vickie Chisholm (Bruce) of Hurdle Mills, NC; grandchildren, Jayden and Jayda Jones, Akira Nunez, Ava, Emma, Amelia, Zoe, James, and Leah Walker.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 30, 2019 at Hudson Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will also receive guests at other times at the home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Christian Center. Officiating will be Pastor Don Westbrook and Pastor Ryan Brooks . Pall bearers will be Jayden Jones, Justess Jones, Stuart Aycock, Brandon Aycock, Michael Llamas, Steven Holder, Adam Holder, Derek Holder, Andrew Holder, Alex Holder, Patrick Dunn, Jonathan Bradley, Tomas Ocampo & Nathanial Barlow. Burial to follow at Hopson Family Cemetery.
